Serene Transitional Home In Nature

A forest home that offers a rendition of tranquility in the wilderness that nurtures the soul.

The Story

Property Overview

The house is a Single Family Residential in Seattle. WA, and is within the Seattle Public Schools. Our client primarily requested an upgrade and to create a better flow of the kitchen. The full kitchen remodels an open concept with a touch of a contemporary-style kitchen. The result was more on adding more lighting to lighten the room and focusing on a more natural flow design.

Existing Conditions

The client wanted to have a popcorn ceiling removal to better the kitchen’s flow as a part of the upgrade. The materials were selected based on the amount of money the customer was willing to spend. The kitchen’s condition showed that some random walls were blocking off the kitchen needed to be replanned and resectioned for a better remodeling. The earthy brown color of its kitchen cabinets, combined with yellow cream-colored walling, made the room appear dim.

The Plan

With the goals set in place for the project, our team designed this to be an open and contemporary kitchen remodel. We aimed to balance the comfort of a functional open style and the sleek cleanliness of a contemporary kitchen.

A—Utilize the open floor plan to make it as functional as possible

B—Freshen up the look and provide the maximum amount of storage.

C— Add open shelves for uniqueness to the kitchen

the Process

Issue of uneven ceiling heights: We had an unexpected discovery of a chimney hidden in the wall corner in the demo. Everyone plays an important role when it comes to remodeling projects. From the salesperson signing the contract to the designer making the client’s dreams a reality and the installer executing the design with his craftsmen ship expertise. During the construction phase, the client was updated weekly with pictures/ phone calls of the remodeling process by the project manager.

Highlighted design features

The clients were amazed how we were able to transform their little kitchen into a whole new space in the home. The ultimate design goal was to create a functional open, contemporary kitchen. The design features included the addition of under-cabinet lights, multiple switches for the lights, and all on dimmers, t least one switch for recessed lights, one for under cabinet lights, one for pendant light above the island, etc. It features a farm-style kitchen sink, a sensor faucet that you touch to turn on and off, and a button next to the sink with a smart garbage disposal function. Eternal Statuario Polished Quartz was utilized for the kitchen countertop, while Subway tile was chosen for the kitchen backsplash. As for the floating shelf, a stylish butcher block was added.

The Story

Property Overview

This home features a sweeping grande space for entertainment and gatherings with gleaming hardwood flooring and high ceilings. This classy home is made entirely for entertainment with a kitchen boasting granite countertops, the newest high-end stainless steel appliances, and customized cabinetry. Its five sleek bedrooms were designed for a comfortable rest from the stressors of everyday life. Every space in the house was scrupulously created into a fun and functional area. This home perfectly reflects the rural lifestyle as the local park and Lake Want are just a step away.

Existing Conditions

The existing condition of the home’s interior design was looking dull and boring because of the blunt wall color. A classic granite countertop sits on classical wooden cabinetry matched with the wood accent floor. The color choice for the cabinetry made the kitchen less visually appealing and dim due to the over-utilization of the rust-like color. And a customary glass window was installed, casting a compact amount light in the kitchen area.

The Plan

We blended different decorating styles with metals, white paints, and natural materials to create an eclectic kitchen with a transitional slant.

A - An expansive kitchen with all-white shaker cabinets from Goldenhome Cabinetry Northwest with black matte cabinet hardware and kitchen faucet.

B - Natural materials such as rustic vent range hood, an oak wood island panel with grey quartz countertop, a butcher block for floating shelves creates an area for small kitchen appliances and display of decorative pieces. Install new barn-style doors and LVP floorings for both kitchen and bathroom to add organic feels to the space.

C - Relocation of sink under the wide kitchen window for natural lighting coming from the window, letting the fresh air in and foul odors out.

D - A full-wall blue backsplash adds excellent contrast to the all-white cabinets. The decorative tiles above the cooktop and black farmhouse pendant lights add unique and eye-catching elements to the whole kitchen.

the Process

The remodel begins with a strong foundation laid in planning and designing the client’s ideal home! After all, it is much more cost effective and less frustrating to correct mistakes before the installation begins. The client’s priorities and style were the driving forces behind our designs at each designing stage. Once the designs are approved and we have the funding, renovation begins!

Structure details of the home

The relocation of the sink and cooktop is a solution for better movement circulation, ensuring adequate workflow space and expanding the storage system, adding more cabinets, pantry, and convenient access to appliances and cookware.

We envisioned the home to give comfort in an eclectic setting and a refreshing home design free of the stresses of city life. Nestled within nature, the client aimed to incorporate an eclectic look with a transitional touch. Our United Team created both outdoor serenity and homey comfort through its layout design and style.

The bathroom features fixtures with brushed nickel finishes, white and grey geometric-shaped tiles. Dark wood sink base, wood-framed mirrors, and a newly installed barn-style door complement the warmer color palette of the bathroom and create a good proportion to the structural design.

It highlights the elegance and a touch of opulence with modern light fixtures and luxury vinyl floors throughout the first floor. The house consists of a white and grey color combination that emphasizes versatility and sophistication, which complements to the vinyl flooring.  A classic synthesis of modern architecture, which physically separates the borders, highlights the beauty of white and grey.

Existing Conditions

Awkward spaces that are in need of additional functions that could help build on the homey and comfy feeling of a home.  Moreover, the interior design was lacking on impact as the wall decor and fixtures need enhancement that can provide quality living and an excellent framework around which should be able to plan the rest of the room.

The Plan

B – White wall paints with grey finishes, metal accent décor pieces, and modern accent lighting fixtures add character to the remodel.

C – Upgrade the bathroom's overall materials for a luxurious and relaxing feel.

D – Install luxury vinyl floors that complement the monochromatic color scheme of the whole interior.

the Process

The home makeover process starts with a developed plan that clearly states the client’s home renovation goal. From a laid-out designing inspiration through consultation and budget estimate, which can maximize the design’s potential within the agreed budget. Moreover, finalizing the outline and scope of work that needs to be done. It was vital for the team to make the client feel comfortable with the home makeover’s design layout.

Built in 1988, this outdated space needed an upgrade as the pattern and colors of the interior competes with each other and creates visual inconsistencies. Furthermore, the column on the wall consumed the space in the living, and the kitchen's half wall makes the area crowded, that the efficiency of movement of people is compromised. The kitchen and living space has become more dated than appealing over time.

The Plan

We incorporated the Modern Farmhouse kitchen layout with expansive windows because of the fantastic setting of the home, offering beautiful views and welcomes socializing.

D - We established innovative storage solutions by adding Lazy Suzan to the kitchen corner storage. Added open shelves in between the rangehood for adequate space for tableware display and some greeneries; to make the extra space more functional, we added a beverage center with a wine

the Process

The process of designing and choosing the perfect design for your home that would complement the location view is very demanding and challenging. The clients have worked hand-in-hand with the team’s designers and managed to develop a mutual design layout after many design suggestions attempts. Despite the daunting process, it was essential to set up the core priorities of the clients for the renovation to work through it.

The Story

Client Goals

The house is a high-end townhome in a gated community in Bothell, WA, close to commercial areas without sacrificing the luxury of a cozy home. It features high ceilings, a traditional fireplace, and sparkling hardwood floors. Our client primarily requested a kitchen and bathroom remodel for their home without adjusting to the overall layout. They wanted a sleek, classy remodel with plenty of cabinet storage as a top priority. The result was stunning, brightening up the whole kitchen.

Existing Conditions

The client wanted to keep the existing floor plan and flooring for the kitchen and bath while ensuring that space is maximized for more cabinet space. The kitchen's condition showed that it was crowded with the classic wooden cabinetry, which matches the wooden flooring. The rust-like color of its kitchen cabinets, combined with cream-colored walling, made the room appear dim.

The Plan

With the goals set in place for the project, our team designed this transitional kitchen remodel. We aimed to balance the comfort of a traditional style and the sleek cleanliness of a contemporary kitchen.

A—Achieving the maximum storage for the kitchen through installing two pantry cabinets and removing the pantry wall, and replacing the current cabinetry with new ones in more significant dimensions.

B—Minimalist furnishings are complimented by white cabinetry and grey porcelain walling, creating a fresh contemporary look.

C—The rustic hardwood flooring easily compliments the simplistic yet sleek design. It has a modern yet classic appearance.

The Process

It was a pleasant experience. All through the construction and design process, we had excellent communication. Vlad, the project manager, and his team developed a concept that fit within the client's budget. The client was out of town through the whole remodeling phase, so scheduled updates online were done along with videos and pictures that the project manager sent to the client as an update on the project. During the design phase, we made call meetings with the client for material selections and discussed details. At this time, the client also realized that they want more drawer storage, so aside from adding more storage for the cabinetry, we resolved it by inserting roll-out trays into the cabinets.

The Result

It was a fantastic budget-friendly project that met all of the client's space requirements with the most cost-effective solutions. The client was easygoing and easy to work with and was very responsive in all phases of the project. The ultimate design goal was to create a clutter-free, easy-to-clean kitchen and bathroom to maintain the home's comfort while maintaining a minimalist design look, which was accomplished in this project.

The Story

Client Goals

To make the limited space practical and appealing to the eye, this charming bathroom style combines elegant, eclectic, and friendly decor features. Many colors and designs of the style are used to bring out the youthful edge of this bathroom remodel, making this little area of warmth colorful and lively. Our client wanted to liven up the shower, toilet, and laundry area, and add warmth to space. Since there are certain gaps and parts of the space we can get creative with, they wanted to fill in those gaps with unique and fun décor.

Existing Conditions

The primary vision was to go from an old-fashioned bathroom and laundry area to a more contemporary accent, with vibrant ambiance. Some of the fixtures are already old and seem to be drab from the start. Also, maximizing the light and adding colors to make the bathroom light up is a priority since only one small window is in the space. Overall, the finished look delivered the primary goals for this project, and our client was seemingly pleased.

The Plan

Our team was able to plan this bathroom and laundry remodel after establishing the project's goals. In the design, we wanted to achieve giving a youthful look to this project, and transform it into a fun modern remodel.

A—Create a modern yet youthful bathroom space and laundry area through vibrant decors and theme

B—Fill in the gaps of the space making it more functional yet bright and colorful

C—Provide a warm appeal for the space and adding modern touches

The Process

The remodeling process was done in just a few weeks, and it was pleasant experience both with our client and our United Team. For the design, it was teamed up with Amanda George Interior Design, which helped us in the design process for the overall look for this bathroom and laundry project. During this time, we met with the client to review material choices and other information, and all throughout was a very refreshing experience to have this eclectic and fun remodel.

The Features

The main attraction for this design is the unique decorative floor tile and the change of the bathroom walling. The contrast between the black decorative floor tile and the staggered tiles for the walls creates this fun look for the overall setup of the toilet room and shower area.

Also, adding the blue accent pieces for the rest of the bathroom walling creates a calm ambiance for this remodel, making the other decors pop up and add life to the space. The round classic framed mirror and the black accent for the faucet sink and other furnishings add this design's modern touches.

The laundry room, on the other hand, has a very fun pattern for its wallpaper tiles, the mint green color for the printed tiles adds a splash of color for the overall design. The quartzite counter adds a classy yet modern accent to this design but not washing out the fun and playful vibe of the space.

The Result

This was a beautiful, cost-effective project that fulfilled all of the client's requests and needs to have a warm remodel result. The customer was laid-back and quick to deal with and was very attentive during the project. We were able to bring out its youthful edge of this bathroom remodel, where we were able to use multiple colors and patterns of style to make this small area of warmth fun and lively!

The Outcome

“The team was phenomenal in meeting my interior needs. They made the entire renovation an amazing experience. I would definitely recommend them to anyone. They are professional and really took the time to understand how I would like to express myself in my personal living space. My house renovation made me realize how much of a positive difference a good interior design has with its appearance and its impact on my daily routine.” – Di J.
