The Camden
United Seattle installed the siding package on The Camden, a new market-rate apartment building on Tacoma Avenue South in downtown Tacoma, working for general contractor Corstone Contractors.
The exterior pairs fiber cement lap and panel siding with steel and metal wall panels, all hung over a drained rainscreen of weather-resistive barrier, furring and hat channel. Crews worked from lifts across every elevation from spring 2024 into early 2025.
The building rises over an underground garage about a quarter mile from the University of Washington Tacoma, with two rooftop decks. One contract, one point of contact, and the same crew from first wrap to final flashing.

At The Camden in Tacoma, United Seattle started with the weather-resistive barrier, furring and hat channel to create a drained rainscreen behind every wall, then flashed each window, transition and penetration before the cladding went on.
The finish exterior combines fiber cement lap siding and panels with steel and metal wall panels, detailed with custom sheet metal flashing and sealant at every change of material. Lifts and staged material deliveries kept the crews moving floor by floor.
